In weekly YIG meetings, we debate mock bills, practice writing speeches and legislation, and have fun! Anyone is welcome to stop by a meeting to see us in action!

Every year, Farragut YIG attends one of the YMCA Center for Civic Engagement's three Youth in Government conferences in Nashville. At the conference, you will act as a reperesentative or senator in a mock Tennessee General Assembly, writing bills, giving speeches, and debating real issues in our state. You also have the oppertunity to serve as a Supreme Court justice, lobbyist, Cabinet member, and more. In 2027, these conferences will be on February 25-28, April 8-11, and April 15-18.
